Sunday, I was up at 6am to get ready for a ride. It was clear and cold with a stiff 20 mph wind from the North. I left the house at 7:30 and took the long way towards Canal and Rockside for the 9am group ride. Unfortunatley, there were only two other riders. We rode together for about 15 miles until I had to start heading North. I ended up with just over 4 hours and 60 miles, much of it into a headwind or crosswind. The fixie kicked my ass today on the climbs.
I did Sagamore climb to hike n bike, Snowville, a few on Riverview, Dunham along with a few others. On the steeper sections I would look down at the computer and see 3 mph and a 165 hr (180 is my max). It was like doing leg presses for 5-7 minutes sets on the 42 x 15 gear.
First big race is Cohutta 100 on April 25th which is a 100 mile point to point mtb race with over 13k feet of climbing. With the profile of this race, it is time to get serious about this bike riding and drop some weight.
